Surely must have a chance the snow has now gone so rain is the only enemy with waterlogged pitch

I have to agree there is a slight concern on the backlog of fixtures ,but we have the squad and players to deal with it . Just shows the importance of having a 4G pitch in the future as the loss of revenue is great and could cripple some clubs ,do feel this will be the future for clubs to exist . And before my learned friend the Chef asks ,the ground move conversations are going well no more updates at this point ,hopefully see you all Saturday

I said last week that the weather was against any games going ahead locally for at least 10days - the MET Office report was pretty well bang on... Looked at the pitch just before 3pm - it was very wet. It would have ruined it for the rest of the season if played on this evening. Sholing have only played 17 games so far this season which begs the question - "are there too many games" Unless you have the luxury of a 4G pitch of course... That of course means you can play - if you can make the journey and the rest of the stadium is pucker... 42 League games, County Cup, Southern League Cup, FA Cup, FA Trophy - how did they ever do it without Floodlights. If you get knocked out of every cup you only play 46 games- phew, only... That's almost one per week if you play every weekend of the year. So - how do you fit all those games into 36 weeks spanning from August to April, through the depths of Winter, knowing that statistically. AT LEAST have a dozen games will be cancelled meaning - that you now have to squeeze all those games, which could equate to 58 if you do well in cups and play-off's, into 30-32 playable weeks... That ain't far off two games a week and far too much for semi-pro's if you then add the logistical issues as in Poole to Evesham mid-week. As a supporter it's great having so much football to watch, but it's hideous to think this can all run efficiently unless you get good footballing weather on good footballing surfaces. Actually "good" isn't good enough as you really need "excellent" to fulfill such an intensive programme The leagues have too many teams and some of those, too far away from each other. Remove the Noddy Cups - the Leagues are bread and butter and main reason why we play. Get it sorted Southern League...
