Great result tonight...
Frantic start by Clevedon, a goal, a missed penalty, hit the woodwork twice, one cleared off the line, and one missed open goal all in the first 20mins... Yes Clevedon could have been 5-0 up so it was almost automatic to think that Town could win this evening after surviving that lot. I did...
After the Clevedon pounding, Town got back into the game with the away defense struggling to handle Lewis Sommers height and strength up front. And it wasn't a surprise to see Town 2-1 up at halftime, almost making it three but denied by a fine save from the away keeper. The Clevedon back line looked frail compared to a very neat midfield and forward line.
The second half started brisk with Town missing an open goal right from the start. Both teams attacked with chances at both ends, the clearer chances created by Town. Clevedon tried to build through midfield, Town using the more direct route via wings and crosses and Sommers goalmouth presence. Town probably having the slightly better of the second half with more chances on goal.
In retrospect, Clevedon must feel hard done by after such an impressive opening spell with so many chances, but must also feel angry that they lost the game through poor finishing and sporadic defending. Town probably just deserved their win with goals from Sommers and Smith, and a great midfield display from Emery and fullback Thomas.
Typical Southern League officials, - I say no more, but a home win under the belt. As most of the crowd felt - it's about time the ball ran for us this season, we've dominated so many games without reward especially at The Causeway.
Well done Town, a few lights-out on the floodlight columns, but very much light-on on the pitch

Think Forest Fred summed it up well, Clevedon should have been 3 or 4 up in the first 20 mins but we dug in and rode the storm, Suprised at the quality players they had, Scott Murrey up front caused. us problems. But we did well scored two good goals and could have scored about 4 ourselfs but for a cracking save from there keeper and a very poor linesman who must have had some fishing wire connecting his arm with there centre back, because every time there player put his hand up so did the linesmans. Good result all played well.

Cant see why not, still alot of games to be played, plus we are at least 2 games behind most of the teams sbove us, just need to put a run together like Yate have, they have gone from bottom to play offs in only a few weeks.
