What a game this turned out to be! 1-1 after 5 minutes and Town struggling in the first half. Second half, and with Sholing leading 2-1, Town had Matt Barnes red carded after a fierce tackle which unfortunately the Sholing No 11 made an absolute meal over and the ref was definitely conned into giving the red card. Down to 10 for most of the half, Town fought back playing their best football of the game, and equalised through Andy Lewis. Lewis Sommers made a superb run to the byeline before passing the ball across goal where Ashley Malcolm slid the ball home even though the keeper made a vain effort to keep it out. After what appeared to be a very long period of added time, Town held out and even missed a golden opportunity to make it 4 when Sam O'Sullivan shot over when well placed. A hard earned 3 points. Lewis Sommers my Man of the Match.

Great game! 2-1 down, down to 10 men and we come back to win 3-2! Ref had a shocker again. My man of the match was Kerian Thomas, with Barnes out now maybe move him up into right midfield.

James - most people think it was a hard but fair tackle - where's the petulance - what do you want - lily livered people there for the money! Quite frankly you piss me off - if you have been to most of the games you will know the bookings were easier for the ref than booking seasoned professionals - your comments make me really angry! Have you ever played the game? if not go and watch rugby or something else! Pathetic!

Fair enough just my view I'm surely entitled to that, didn't realise you had to play the game to have your say as a fan I'm not gonna argue or swear at you,and was not saying the petulance was just tonight but we won that's all that matters not us !

Have you ever played the game? if not go and watch rugby or something else! Pathetic! Players at cinderford for the money? I cant see that, cinderford dont pay that much! I think the sending off was harsh and the sholing player got Matt sent off by his play acting, ref fell for it. I think your harsh on James, maybe he never saw the tackle and just saw Matt het sent off again. If Matt got sent off for punching, headbutting or an off the ball incident then i would not be happy abput it, but Matt was unlucky and the ref got it wrong, not his fault. Thought there number 6 was lucky to stay on the pitch after a number of bad tackles! Oh and thanks Bev for dvd!

Thanks Big mac - the issue was using the word petulence and stating it could have cost us - we went on to win because the lads felt the injustice and set about it. We've got some really good and determined lads - who want to be at Cinderford and proud to be wearing the shirt - very poor referee - sadly the assessor will do nothing - as usual - what is the point in them being there other than to make poor officials even worse!

The officials so far this season have been very poor, worse than last year! I think after the sending off Lewis was the lone striker so we played the ball to his feet as he had no one to knock the ball onto. Lewis is better with the ball at his feet than in the air, think we need to stop hitting the high balls to him for the knock ons and play it to his feet.

Great result for town, coming back after a sending-off - it's what football is all about... drama
Sholing got off to a great scoring after only three minutes, town replied before I could buy a coffee and get to the halfway line with a great run and cross from Thomas headed in by Sommers.
The visitors dominated long periods of the first half and deserved their 2-1 lead with a long range header from their center half, direct from a corner. Various gestures from the away defense seemed to think it would be easy game - sadly they didn't know we always play better in the second half.
Town started stronger right from the start and pressed what looked a well drilled back four. An equalizer looked imminent until the much disputed tackle by Barnes on the lively Sholing 11. Having slid off the field, Barnes returned with what the Ref deemed a two footed tackle, and a straight red. Until then the Ref was having a good game, sadly disturbed as he failed to react to a similar tackle by Sholing 6 on fullback Thomas.
The sending off inspired Town to create even more pressure on the away goal, Sommers the thorn in the Hampshire side. A own goal under pressure from Andy Lewis, from a Thomas free kick created the equalizer, then a superb jinking run and low cross by Sommers, allowed a tap in by Malcolm for a Town winner.
Both sides went close in injury time, and open goal opportunity missed by O'Sullivan in the dying seconds would have put the final nail in the Sholing coffin, only for them to go to the other end and miss what could have been a cruel equalizer.
Slow start but exciting end, good performance from Sommers and Thomas who is turning into a great signing. We will need to sharpen up when the divisions top scorer arrives in Town, and also pay more attention to set free kicks and corners. Good little run going on and no reason why we shouldn't trouble Yate on Saturday

I also noticed the Sholing players looking confident when they were walking off the pitch at half time, good to beat them.
On to Yate on saturday, tough one!
