Had a quick look at the pitch around 12.30, bit hard here and there but perfectly playable. Temperature overnight due to drop to -4 but it must have been that last night. Day temp tomorrow to rise to +4 which is higher than today. Only problem is wind chill factor although temp overnight Wednesday is also higher at Zero
Looking okay for the big clash at the moment, will do same tomorrow so stay posted...

I've actually changed my Baro this week Macca...
I've now got a wheelbarrow and in it is a layer of sand with the same moisture content as The Causeway(approx). My barrow points due South West and is currently 231mtrs above sea level, exactly the same as the center circle at the Causeway, it also receives the same daily measure of sunlight. At the moment Barrow-Baro says "No Game" but hey... would you ever go to sea with a Michael Fish weather forecast in your hand
Up the Town - pitch update at 10.30...

At 7:30 (thats am Fred) I checked the Lawnometer here in the suburb of Cinderford called Littledean and it was like concrete. Needs a lot of sunshine and the wind to drop if game is to be on. Personally I think it will be off I hope I'm wrong. Perhaps Trust Me Tait can let us know if inspection planned. Whats the Barrowmeter saying Fred?.

All eyes on Freds Barrowmeter!
Just been in the garden to feed rabbit, not to bad, if the sun stays out might be ok.

Just been up to the Hallowed Turf... At the moment it's hard but not icy, which is a big difference. There are signs that the surface is softening and although hard, the surface is pretty good, crisp, and even. Credit to who ever does the ground nowadays. I've played on worse and harder.
Not sure who's inspecting it but it'll be a brave decision especially as Merthyr have already had one wasted journey. The secret will be to leave it until the absolute last minute before the inspection - maybe as late as 3.30pm considering Merthyr is local in comparison with other teams in this division.
Midday will almost certainly be too early to inspect. Think it'll be very much down to the managers to decide, and the Ref will have to be pretty tough if the game goes ahead. With so many back fixtures and the long range forecast looking bleak until Easter.
Summary - Barrowbaro says no game, Forest Fred says wait till the latest and it's very possible - I'm just a non-league football fan... not John Kettley
